Using Electric Vehicles (EV) and Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) in the workplace demonstrates to your employees, consumers, and community that you are committed to facilitating their needs and committed to an environmental ethos. American consumers report in large numbers that they prefer doing business with companies who support issues which attempt to mitigate climate change. Having EV chargers at your work place can help build this reputation. The reduction in traffic emissions also can significantly reduce the public health burden from poor air quality, particularly in population-dense building environments
We are living in an EV decade where most of our transportation will become electrified. Your company can play a role in this process. EMPOWER is an outreach, funding, and education project that has selected 32 Clean Cities Coalitions, of which Wisconsin Clean Cities is one, to help install electric vehicle charging stations across the nation. So far, we have engaged more than 2,000 employers and installed more than 3,500 EVSE ports.
Any work place interested in installing a charger can sign the pledge. There is no cost and no commitment to sign. Signing simply lets the EMPOWER program know that Wisconsin Clean Cities #29 is being requested to come to your work place to asses the location so we can determine the best place and level of charge. We will then obtain the technical assistance needed and funds to get it installed. We will send you our proposed plans and you can reject, move forward, or expand them as desired. You can choose to increase the plans beyond the funding we allocate, but you are not expected to do so. Signing the pledge shows a commitment to explore the possibility of using cleaner fuel technologies without having to absorb any cost.
