Wisconsin Clean Cities can assist those looking to decrease their carbon footprint, increase sustainability, save on transportation costs, meet individual economic goals and make the world a better place for generations to come with our Wisconsin Smart Fleet program!
Fleets in the program go through a three step process:
- Data Gathering. Fleet managers share information about their vehicles and equipment, internal policies and fuel incentives, fuel usage and future vehicle acquisition plans.
- Fleet Analysis. A Wisconsin Clean Cities Program Associate will initiate a conference call to learn about the fleet’s needs, daily operations, geography,. etc. and will travel to visit the fleet’s location to gain greater insight. The additional information collected is essential to the final, customized recommendation report for each individual member.
- Recommendations and Ratings. Wisconsin Clean Cities analyzes the data collected and schedules a meeting to discuss the member’s customized recommendation report. The Wisconsin Clean Cities representative will explain how the Wisconsin Smart Fleet rating system works to help fleets achieve their sustainability goals.
The report is intended to be used as a planning tool by the fleet manager and will outline suggested methods and strategies specific to each fleet to further reduce fuel costs, petroleum usage and greenhouse gas emissions.
The Smart Fleet program uses a points-based system and allows fleets to obtain a higher rating based on their success. The more a fleet does to reduce their petroleum usage, the more points they can achieve. A fleet can be designated as 5-star, 3-star, 1-star, or Smart Starter. Each quarter, the fleet has an opportunity to move up within the rating system.
WCC will provide education, outreach, promotion and support to participating fleets with support from local, state and national industry partners.
