Mike Basarich, CEO and Co-Founder of Fleet Cycles Inc.will guide us through what we can learn from the US Air Force’s Electric Cargo Bike Integration. Topics will includethe Military’s need for agile, cost-effective, low-maintenance, easily deploy-able, energy-efficient transportation, the case studies done on the deployment of fleet cycles in base operations, the benefits, cost savings, challenges, and future market forecasts. This exciting presentation will include field trials, video footage, and live displays!

Brandt Hertenstein, Program Manager at the Electrification Coalition, will explore the key elements of expanding electric vehicle charging access across three critical settings: workplaces, multifamily units, and public spaces. This presentation unearths the challenges of each and covers practical solutions for growing EV charging access. By the end of the session, participants will understand the unique needs, opportunities, and policies that drive successful charging deployment across these different environments.

Bob will discuss how Native Sun brings a diversity of electric vehicle types, EV charging, workforce development, agrivoltaics, and microgrids to Tribal Nations across the Midwest to help develop an “Electric Nation” that connects sovereign Tribes through clean transportation and energy.

Dave Schaller, Director of Special Projects at the North American Council for Freight Efficiency, will explain the “Messy Middle” – a time between now and when the trucking industry gets to the zero-emission movement of freight. In 2019, the North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE) coined the term, and it has since caught on throughout our industry, learn why from this powerhouse speaker!

Dean Drake MBA, President of DeFour Group, retired from General Motors after 34 years of service as the Manager of Alternative Systems, where he initiated and planned GM’s first formal environmental policy dialogue and initiated the Conference on Global Warming in 1989. He developed the guidelines for the famous “cash for clunkers” program, co-invented the Virtual Emissions Sensor, and boasts an incredible list of notable professional accomplishments. Mr. Drake has overseen the development of three generations of vehicles, including GM’s EV-1.  Dean will discuss the automotive industry’s massive conversion to a new generation of vehicles. This effort, driven by environmental concerns, technological advancements, consumer preferences, and shifting economics, marks only the second time in the last 100 years that the industry has completely overhauled how vehicles are designed, built, and powered. Nearly ½ trillion dollars have already been spent, and much more will be required over the next twenty years before this transition is complete.
