Dairyland Power Cooperative

Dairyland Power Cooperative is a generation and transmission (G&T) cooperative headquartered in La Crosse, Wisconsin. Founded in 1941, it generates and wholesales electricity to 24 member distribution cooperatives and 27 municipal utilities, ultimately powering about 800,000 people across a four-state area (Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois). Dairyland's power generation mix includes coal, natural gas, hydropower, wind, solar, and biogas. It delivers electricity across nearly 3,720 miles of transmission lines and operates over 300 substations. Dairyland Power is a not-for-profit, meaning it is owned by the members and communities it serves. Dairyland is involved in regional energy development and transmission upgrades—improving Midwest grid reliability and supporting the integration of modern data centers.
