Madison Gas & Electric

Madison Gas and Electric (MGE) is an investor-owned, regulated utility that provides electricity to approximately 170,000 customers in the Madison, Wisconsin and natural gas to roughly 180,000 customers across seven south-central and western Wisconsin counties. MGE generates and distributes electricity while purchasing and distributing natural gas to homes and businesses. The utility has set a target to achieve net-zero carbon electricity by the year 2050, heavily investing in renewable sources like wind, solar, and battery storage.
