Sustain Dane

Founded in 1999, Sustain Dane is the primary sustainability organization for Madison and Dane County, WI. It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that inspires, connects, and supports local businesses, governments, schools, and individuals to create a healthy environment, a just economy, and equitable well-being for all. The organization leads a variety of impactful community programs, networks, and events. Known for helping local businesses reduce environmental impact while bettering their bottom line. Sustain Dane coordinates local zero-waste initiatives, including popular food scrap and compost drop-off sites at area farmers' markets. They host an annual regional gathering that features panels and workshops on community climate goals.
