Join the Citizens Utility Board of Wisconsin (CUB) offers free, nonpartisan educational programming designed to help utility customers understand their energy bills, lower costs, and navigate energy efficient and clean energy options for their home, small businesses and farms. CUB recently contacted WCC Director, Fred Schnook, to speak in an essential educational webinar designed to help Wisconsin small business utility customers navigate the 2026 energy landscape. In an era of evolving rate structures, shifting market demands, and emerging clean technology, managing your energy use is more critical than ever. This session will also include an overview of how Wisconsin utilities work, and ways for businesses to get more involved in the process of setting rates. Fred Schnook, Executive Director – Wisconsin Clean Cities
Fred Schnook brings with him a very successful 30-year career in Sustainability, Public Policy and Workforce Development at the executive level. Dedicated to improving the economic prosperity of Wisconsin communities, Fred has extensive experience, skills and education in spurring economic opportunities by creating a synergistic relationship between the disciplines of Workforce Development, Economic Development and Community Development. Working in the public, private and nonprofit sectors Mr. Schnook has developed award-winning plans and programs and projects.As Mayor of the City of Ashland, Fred helped to bring the first Eco-municipalities in the nation to his community while simultaneously bringing in millions of new revenue and tax base. In addition, Mr. Schnook holds an associate’s degree, a bachelor’s degree, and a Masters’s Degree in Public Administration. Schnook is currently working on his PhD at the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee’s Urban Studies program.

Kelsey Moses, Excise Tax & Compliance Officer – Lakefront Brewery
Kelsey Moses (She/Her) is Excise Tax & Compliance Officer at Lakefront Brewey in Milwaukee, WI, where she maintains compliance with government agencies from DATCP to TTB and manages Certifications including B Corp, Kosher (Star-K), and Gluten-Free (GFCO). She holds a degree in Anthropology from UMN-Twin Cities and is deeply inspired by sustainability work supporting the triple bottom line of people, planet, and profit.
She’s glad to be a part of Lakefront Brewery which allows her to work with organizations that make a difference such as B Local WI, Citizens Utility Board, Milwaukee Diaper Mission, Milwaukee Riverkeeper, Pink Boots Society, and more!
