The Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) grant program offers funding assistance to upgrade, retrofit, and turn over the older diesel vehicles in your fleet. DERA is anticipated to reopen in mid-summer of 2026. Join Wisconsin Clean Cities and Tony Maietta of the US EPA for this DERA 101 webinar, designed to help you get ready and increase your chance of success.
Bring you fleet list! We will use it to compare to the historical DERA vehicle qualifications to determine which of your vehicles qualify for funding. *the NOFO will be officially published when the program opens.
Schools, tribes, nonprofits, municipalities, and transit companies may apply. For-profit businesses cannot directly apply on the federal level, however they can qualify for and receive funding if they partner with an eligible primary application or by applying through state level programs. WCC can help you locate primary partners!
DERA 101 Presenters:
Anthony “Tony” Maietta, Environmental Protection Specialist at the US EPA’s Region 5 (Air and Radiation Division) office in Chicago, IL.
Specializes in clean air and diesel emission reduction, providing critical expertise on EPA grant programs like DERA and the Clean School Bus Program to stakeholders throughout the Midwest. Tony is regarded as a regional expert on voluntary diesel emission reduction, State and Local Transportation, and the EPA’s Ports Initiative. He is a key regional point of contact and presenter for DERA and the Clean School Bus Program, helping local school districts and transit authorities secure funding to transition to cleaner, electric fleets.
