Wisconsin Clean Cities partnered with Nissan North America and Wisconsin utility companies to promote Wisconsin’s first electric vehicle group buy program. The group buy program, dubbed REV UP WISCONSIN, was available to all employees and customers of Alliant Energy, Madison Gas and Electric, Minnesota Power, We Energies, Wisconsin Public Service and Xcel Energy.
REV UP WISCONSIN provided discounts on the 2016 and 2017 Nissan LEAF from August 2, 2016 through September 30, 2017.
Through the first round of the REV UP WISCONSIN program, Nissan offered a $8,231 discount off the MSRP. For the second round of the program, the discount increased to $10,000. Customers could also take advantage of the federal tax savings of up to $7,500.
Wisconsin Clean Cities also gave away home charging stations to two lucky customers who purchased or leased a new Nissan LEAF, courtesy of Nissan North America. Click here to read why one recipient vowed to only purchase electric vehicles in the future.
Wisconsin Clean Cities hosted more than a dozen ride and drive events promoting the program, which ultimately led to the addition of more than 150 new Nissan LEAFs on Wisconsin roads. This helped reduce greenhouse gas emissions equal to that created by 80,000 gallons of gasoline.
